Parliament has finally approved the update of the budget of the State Social Security (SSSI) for 2022. The increase in pensions will be in two stages - from July 1 and from October 1 this year.

The minimum pension becomes BGN 467, which includes the covid supplement in the amount of BGN 60.

The social pension is raised from BGN 170 to BGN 247.

All pensions for employment, granted until December 31, 2021, are increased by 10 percent.

The additional amounts (covid supplements) and individual compensatory amounts paid to the pensioners with a pension for labor activity as of June 30 shall be included in the amount of the pension received by them after the application of the update by 10 per cent.

The maximum amount of received one or more pensions, without supplements to them, for 2022 should be as follows:

- from January 1 to June 30 - BGN 1,500;

- from July 1 to September 30 - BGN 2,000;

- from October 1 to December 31 - BGN 3,400.
