From July 1, the Ministry of Economy will cover the expenses of the citizens of Northern Macedonia, who will install solar panels on their roofs for the production of electricity, up to 30 percent, but not more than one thousand euros. reports REL.

Electricity generation with the amendments to the Regulation on Renewable Energy Sources for a household is limited to six kilowatts per hour.

While, they will be able to sell the surplus electricity to the company that distributes electricity, EVN HOME, or this part will be deducted from their account during the months when they will not be able to produce enough electricity for family needs.

According to the calculations made by experts in the field of energy, the cost of installing solar panels for a family, namely the production of electricity of six kilowatts per hour, is about four thousand euros - respectively 700 to 800 euros per kilowatt hour - This investment, in these conditions of increasing the price of electricity, returns within three years.

"For the production of six kilowatts of electricity per hour, the price of equipment is on average four thousand euros, more or less, depending on the quality of installation of solar panels if they are static or have a rotation system depending on the movement of the sun, then here we also have the cable that connects the solar panels with the supply system, etc. ", says Gjorgji Manaskov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Energy.

He emphasizes that in conditions of energy crisis, the installation of solar panels by households will significantly reduce dependence on the external energy market.

According to him, this investment will be returned to the citizens within a few years due to the fact that Northern Macedonia as a country in many parts of its territory has many sunny days a year.

But, the citizens say that this measure will mostly benefit the families with more income as four thousand euros are unaffordable for a family, which fails to provide even an average salary of 500 euros.

"If you do not open your eyes well for every penny, the money for bread goes away and no longer for investments for solar panels.

I can not allocate money for solar panels when I can barely provide the basic food items for my family of five.

"Only the rich will set up panels, they will even receive money from the state, it is up to the poor to stay under blankets during the winter, we have nothing to do", says Jovan Dimitrievski.

The Minister of Economy, Kreshnik Bekteshi, underlined that there is great interest on the part of households for the installation of solar panels and the use of additional funds by the state for their installation.

"The new regulation enables the production of 6 kilowatts, so if a household uses only 2 kilowatts, the excess energy of 4 kilowatts can pass to EVN, which is a universal supplier.

Thus, households can exchange and then the electricity produced can be compensated or charged ", Bekteshi explained.

Trajan Angelloski, president of the Association of Chambers of Commerce, says that Northern Macedonia has lagged behind in terms of using Renewable Resources, although there is a lot of interest from companies in installing solar panels to reduce costs.

"We are 20 years late in terms of using solar energy.

"And we still do not manage to take a step in this situation of crisis as a result of bureaucratic procedures in collecting documentation to obtain permission for the installation of photovoltaics, as in certain countries companies are obstructed", says Angelloski.
