As a result of heavy rains in the region, a significant increase in water level was observed in Georgia, on June 26-27, in the Tbilisi settlement of the Kura River.

The National Hydrometeorology Service told APA that as a result, high water is expected in Gazakh, Agstafa and Tovuz regions around the Kura in the coming days.

Currently, the water level in Kur-Giragkesemen settlement is 5-6 times higher than last year and is 165% of the ten-day norm.

As a result of heavy rains in recent days, the water level in some rivers flowing through the Lesser Caucasus has increased, and short-term floods have been observed.

Given the unstable weather conditions that will continue until the end of June, the water level in the rivers of the republic is likely to increase, and short-term floods are expected in some rivers of the Greater and Lesser Caucasus.
