Georgia has offered the owners of vehicles traveling to the Russian Federation to use the territory of Azerbaijan in connection with the closure of the Kazbeki border checkpoint.

APA's local bureau reports that the Revenue Service of the Georgian Ministry of Finance reported this.

It was stated that vehicles going to the Russian Federation can carry out border crossing procedures using the Broken Bridge and Lagodekhi customs checkpoints.

It should be noted that due to the difficult meteorological situation in the Dariyal gorge, all customs control procedures have been suspended at the Kazbegi customs checkpoint.

The floods caused by heavy rains damaged the part of the international road connecting Georgia and Russia near the border with the Russian Federation.

"Once the weather improves and the repair work is completed, the Kazbeki customs checkpoint will continue to operate at full capacity," the ministry said.
