Today, the implementation of the agreement for the full opening of the border between Kosovo and Albania has started, so that every weekend during the summer season at the border crossings there will be no ban on document control or police.

This was announced during the joint meeting of the two governments held on June 20, 2022 in Pristina.

In this meeting it was announced that starting from "June 1 to September 30 all citizens from Kosovo and Albania every weekend will cross the borders of the two countries without obstacles.

"From June 1 to September 30, every weekend, at our borders, citizens will cross without the need to be checked," said the Minister of Internal Affairs of Albania, Bledi Çuçi.

Whereas, Minister Xhelal Sveçla said that the Kosovo Police and the Albanian Police have an excellent cooperation.

"Kosovo and Albanian police enjoy excellent cooperation, both in combating illegal actions.

"Today we will sign the agreement that by the end of September there will be an easy crossing of the border", said Sveçla.
