In connection with the publications in the media about assistance provided by Bulgaria to Ukraine, we are obliged to specify that our country strictly implements the decision of the National Assembly of 04.05.2022 and provides assistance only in accordance with the document:

to take measures in connection with the war in Ukraine

1 of the Rules of Procedure and the organization of the National Assembly

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS

:

Gives a mandate to the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria to discuss and implement a package of measures related to the war in Ukraine and its consequences in the following areas:

1. A comprehensive package of measures to overcome the consequences of the imposed sanctions in economic, financial and social aspects, as well as in terms of energy and food security of Bulgaria.

2. Providing assistance to Ukraine - humanitarian, financial and military-technical, according to the capabilities of the Republic of Bulgaria, as follows:

(a) continuing support for Ukraine's membership of the European Union;

(b) assistance to Ukrainian citizens fleeing the war - legislative and organizational measures to improve reception capacity and integration opportunities until conditions are in place for their lasting return to Ukraine;

c) providing an opportunity for export of Ukrainian grain to Varna;

(d) the strengthening of energy cooperation, in particular the supply of electricity from Ukraine and natural gas;

e) repair activity of Ukrainian military equipment in the military enterprises of the Republic of Bulgaria;

(f) continuing the delivery of humanitarian aid, in particular medicines, clothing and foodstuffs.

The decision was adopted by the 47th National Assembly on May 4, 2022 and was sealed with the official seal of the National Assembly.
