Forest fires have been going on for several days in the Marmaris region of Turkey's Mugla province.

APA's local bureau reports that according to Turkish Minister of Forestry and Agriculture Vahit Kirishci, measures are being taken to extinguish the fires.

A large number of helicopters, planes, fire engines, water tankers, as well as employees of the forest protection service and equipment belonging to various organizations were involved in extinguishing the fire.

It was noted that three helicopters from Qatar and an amphibious plane from Azerbaijan have already joined the firefighting measures.
