This year, work is already underway on 92 of the settlements envisaged in the gasification program, which is 75% of the work planned for 2022.

APA-Economics reports that Teymur Jafarov, head of Azerigas' new gasification and development department, told journalists as part of the "Open Door" campaign.

According to him, our main task this year will be the gasification of settlements in the southern zone.

The level of gasification in this zone is lower than in other regions.

Thus, gasification of more residential areas in Yardimli, Lerik, Astara, Jalilabad and Lankaran is planned.

“Gasification projects are metal-capacity projects, where a large number of steel pipes are used.

Most of the steel pipes we use come from Russia.

"The sanctions imposed have had some negative effects on us in the pipeline issue (Russia-Ukraine conflict - ed.), But we are trying to resolve this issue," said Teymur Jafarov.

It should be noted that this year's gasification program envisages gasification of 69 settlements and 62 settlements.
