People with certain diagnoses should skip this drink.

According to doctors, there are six types of people who should never drink beer.

Here's who they are:

People with diabetes and pre-diabetes

Few people think about sugar when looking for beer.

However, although there is no sugar in the list of ingredients, it is formed naturally during fermentation.

"Beer can raise blood sugar very quickly and if you drink it on an empty stomach, it can also increase insulin levels and cause hypoglycemia, which is also dangerous," said Jonathon Kung.

People on a diet or obese

If you are trying to lose a few pounds, it may be wise to stay away from beer.

Respectively, it has 100 to 200 calories, and has almost no nutritional value.

One study found that drinking more than half a liter of beer a day can stop weight loss, especially in men.

Therefore, if you want to lose weight, replace a bottle of beer with a bottle of water.

People gluten sensitive

Those who follow a gluten-free diet should try to avoid beer as it can cause digestive problems.

"Beer can often activate inflammatory processes in the digestive system, which can result in unpleasant indigestion," says Kung.

Fortunately, there are also gluten-free beers.

People with irritable bowel syndrome

Digestive problems are not fun for anyone, much less for those who suffer from this syndrome.

"Beer often causes bloating, odor, diarrhea and sometimes stomach pain because it irritates the abdominal walls or retains water in some," Kung said.

People with chronic liver disease and cirrhosis

If you suffer from liver disease or cirrhosis, do not drink beer.

"Beer is alcohol that can further increase the damage when metabolized by an already damaged liver.

"This can reduce the function of that organ."

People suffering from heartburn

Beer should be added to the list of foods and beverages you avoid if you suffer from heartburn.

"Beer is known to reduce the ability of the esophageal sphincter to close, and this results in an increased return of acid to the esophagus," Kung told Eat This.
