At a recent meeting with the Iraqi delegation, the Investigative Committee of Belarus handed over to the country's representatives the testimony of Polish deserter Emil Cechka, who claimed that "mass shootings and secret burials of killed refugees in the border area" were allegedly committed by Polish border guards.

In Iraq, it was stated that there was no evidence of "mass executions of migrants on the Belarusian-Polish border."

Iraqi Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed al-Sahaf explained that there was no documentary or legal evidence of the crimes in question.

This was reported by the Iraqi news agency INA.

"On February 7, 2022, the embassy launched a high-level coordination and investigation through the relevant authorities in Poland, and it was proved that the news published by foreign and local media was invalid," Sahaf explained.

He clarified that no Iraqi citizen had complained about what was mentioned in the news, and recalled that the Iraqi government had previously formed "a specialized legal group to investigate the case and it will submit its report."
