A giant World War II tank that was "buried" for 74 years in Lincolnshire Ferns, England, has been completely restored.

The 8-meter Buffalo tank had been buried almost 9 meters underground since 1947, and may be the only vehicle in Europe that was used during World War II and still functions as if it were manufactured today.

Farmer Daniel Abbott, 42, and his team of volunteers pulled out a 20-ton amphibious tank last April, after spending three years looking for it, the Telegraph reports.

Buffalo had sunk deep into the ground after being used as an amphibious vehicle in March 1947 to rescue Crowland village residents from overturning.

A year later, the tank was restored and for the 74th anniversary of the 1947 upheaval, it was unveiled at Thorney & Crowland.

The LVT-4 has had its cabin, armored front and gear restored - with new chains.
