Ukraine today has the status of a candidate for membership in the European Union, a country that has been welcomed by official Kiev.

"This is the end of the Russian world in Ukraine and the end of the era of the Russian lobby in Europe.

"Ukraine is officially a candidate for the EU, and Europe is united as never before," wrote Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the Ukrainian president, after being granted the status of a candidate for EU membership, Telegrafi reports.

"Before us is a difficult path, but the goal has been proven: We are part of the civilized world and we have crossed paths with Russia, the land of monsters," said Podolyak.

The EU decision has been long awaited and has long been announced, but those familiar with the matter, even French President Emmanuel Macron himself, warn that a year will pass before Ukraine becomes a member of the EU.

Recall that Ukraine and Moldova have gained the status of candidate for EU membership, and this was first announced when the leaders of the 27-nation bloc gathered in Brussels to discuss the issue.

This decision came when the European Parliament approved the result with 529 votes in favor and 45 against, calling on EU leaders to approve the candidate status for membership.

The end of "Russian world" in Ukraine and the era of Russian lobby in Europe.

🇺🇦 - official EU candidate, and Europe is united as never before.

Difficult path is ahead, but the main thing is proven: we are part of the civilized world and have separate ways with the 🇷🇺 Zombieland.
