The Organization for Quality Enhancement in Education (ORCA) has requested the dismissal and removal of academic science titles for professors Ardian Kastrati and Bujar Dugolli.

This is after the Ethics Council at the University of Prishtina decided that both professors in question, through plagiarism have won titles.

"In order not to go further with more severe measures, ORCA urgently requests that: The Council of the Faculty of Philosophy remove from the role of the senator of this faculty Bujar Dugolli.

It does not and can not, a plagiarist to be a representative of the Faculty in the Senate, the body that deals with academic issues, even academic integrity.

"Secondly, the UP Senate as the highest academic body of the institution not to approve the decision of the Ethics Council for the light measures it has proposed to Dugolli and Kastrati, but to expel both from the university as it happens in every country of the world when plagiarism is proven to someone.

"The least they can do for now is to remove the academic titles obtained through plagiarism," reads the ORCA press release.

But, according to this organization, despite the confirmation of plagiarism, the Ethics Council, although it has considered the actions of professors as serious violations, has taken ridiculous measures against them.

The decision states that Professor Bujar Dugolli is prohibited from mentoring the topics of master's and doctoral degree for two years, while Ardian Kastrati is prohibited from mentoring topics of all levels for 3 years.

"And as a joint punitive measure, the two professors' work plagiarism is not considered as a work published in scientific journals and as a result can not be used for academic advancement."

"This punitive measure is scandalous and unacceptable and illogical, first because the Ethics Council through this measure has legitimized plagiarism, this measure indirectly calls on professors for plagiarism because the question arises which of the university professors is late if not mentors diploma topics for two or three years, when he / she is already comfortable in the position of professor even through the violations he / she has committed ”.

And second, it is said that the decision is illogical because it contradicts itself.

"Both professors have been promoted to higher academic titles through this paper, but the Ethics Council let alone ignore ORCA's prior request for the removal of titles earned by professors, but tells them this from now on. paper you can not use for academic advancement.

"This is the peak of absurdity."

"ORCA will not stop.

We will continue to escalate the measures we will take.

"If we consider that the institutional roads are exhausted, what you are seeing today is simply and only an introduction to the series of actions and protests."
