Supporters of the Republican Party in Texas intend to hold a referendum on the withdrawal of the state from the United States.

APA reports quoting TASS that the party's congress adopted a document calling for a law on holding a referendum in 2023 and sent it to the state legislature.

The document states that the federal government violated the rights of Texas local self-government.

At the convention, more than 5,000 Republicans refused to recognize the results of the last presidential election, calling into question Joe Biden's presidency.
