Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti met today in Pristina with representatives of Serbian civil society, before whom he expressed the opinion that the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina should lead to mutual recognition, Tanjug was quoted as saying by BTA.

During the meeting, Kurti said Serbia "needs to go through introspection and face its past", he said.

Civil society is key to democratization and thriving when human rights and civil liberties are protected, Kurti said.

The meeting took place within the framework of the Balkan Group's program for resolving bilateral issues and developing regional co-operation in the Western Balkans.

Human rights activists, journalists and representatives of several NGOs were present.

Regarding Pristina's refusal to join the Open Balkans regional initiative, Kurti said he was not in favor of ideas that keep the Western Balkans isolated and bring countries in the region closer to Russia and China.

Serbia recognizes Kosovo?

He stressed that Pristina supports the common regional market and the Berlin Process, and told Open Balkans that it was an initiative launched by Serbia, Albania and the Republic of Northern Macedonia to create a common political and economic space.
