On June 30, the Ministry of Justice will be ready with proposals for changes in the Code of Criminal Procedure (CPC).

Among them are the texts concerning the investigation of the Prosecutor General.

This was said by the Deputy Minister of Justice Emil Dechev, BTA reports.

The Deputy Minister of Justice promised that this would happen regardless of whether there is a government or not.

"If we want an effective investigation by the chief prosecutor, there must be an elected criminal judge from the Supreme Court of Cassation," Dechev said.

According to him, this would be a figure of an ad hoc prosecutor.

Geshev: The Prosecutor's Office has an influence on imaginary grounds

A similar model exists in Spain and Portugal, he said in a legal forum.

"We meet quite conservative thinking from colleagues, they accept us as adventurers. But we are convinced of our rights and we will make these changes," Dechev said.
