Teacher Satki Ismaili, in an interview with Telegrafi Makedonija, spoke about education in Macedonia, the challenges they faced during the pandemic, the novelty of this year, which is the online registration of students, as well as other topics.

Ismaili stated that the return to school benches was very positive, both for the students and the teachers.

According to him, the challenges at the time when he started this profession are very different from those of today.

Teacher Ismaili also said that the motivation of teachers and professors is not only the salary, which also mentioned other factors that affect them.

Below is the interview of teacher Satki Ismaili for Telegrafi Makedonija:

How did this school year end in RMV?

This academic year was a little different from last year, because it was a pandemic time, it was a time when children were closed, students closed, teachers also, teaching is taking place online.

Now the return to school benches was a very positive turn that was eagerly awaited by both students and teachers.

The difference or discrepancy from online in physical presence is no doubt what we are wanting more with physical presence, we have tried to contribute both students and teachers.

That phase of adaptation after a school year with distance learning made itself, that is, access to school benches, completely online learning, that phase of students' adaptation, that is, returning to school benches, that phase of learning with different teaching methods. we say from the usual,

Avoiding these shortcomings is not only what students, teachers and so on can do, but it is what is at the top that is the education system that tries to bring innovation in education but their adaptation to say their implementation and their functionality should be careful, not fast, not in a hurry because the consequences are observed in future generations where we are already seeing the consequences of education twenty, the next thirty years which are consequences which from research is showing that there is a functional illiteracy as rising of grades, but what is very important is the quality is not the right one ”.

How did the online registration process go, there were many complaints about the non-functioning of the same, where many students from Stip and Veles were registered in Skopje, what is your comment?

Online registration or application of students who have completed primary education has been a bit of a challenge, it is not only for students of Veles, Stip and so on, but it has been a challenge for all students, teachers and parents, meaning the time limit when an online training for some teachers who are in the ninth grade was a deadline we say five to twelve, exactly what should have been done from the beginning, at the beginning of the new school year or two or three months ago t ' give the opportunity to teachers, ninth grade students or parents who are well acquainted with the application method, ie access to the national platform where each student has the account where he should log in to apply has not been active until the moment when the application started at school which is reasonable, but what were the preparations,no there was no proper preparation I say this in the spirit of criticism that we are not people who criticize only but we want the best education, but I am telling you voluntarily three days ago I made a video guide on how teachers should apply , parents and so on, it was she who had a great look because the students used it but she was not the only one there were others, however, wherever this method of application had difficulties, many students had accounts of the national platform that they had in distance learning, but if it is not used within a certain period, for example, in the national platform, it means that the passwords must be updated. and so on exactly had this shortcoming but were also in a difficult situation school administrators who in a short period of time had to give a lot of passwords but this is to say an experience for all of us here no party can be blamed that there are omissions also from the parents who with their children wait for the last moment the receipts at home do not have the receipt then on the other side where is the part that they have to complete the documentation because the school is not obliged but that shouldmake the parent that he knows where the child will be oriented.

If we are looking for digital skills that is one of the most important competencies for teachers, the other is also for young people who need digitalization in the labor market, if you encounter students who are in the ninth grade and there is no email, completes the ninth grade and does not have the skills to perform the conversion of documentation where from Word to PDF and so on, to do a check, to review it and so on, this is exactly what has brought what in schools, in cities special that sometimes it is easy to accuse someone of something but we should also be self-critical that here it is not done to say that the challenge has not been only for certain cities of RMV,that this challenge has been for everyone but next year you are convinced I am personally convinced that after this everyone who in his prism noticed the release I think this will be overcome.

How many consequences did the pandemic have on the quality of education?

Yes it is true, now we are seeing the consequences but these consequences we will notice for a long period of time, the pandemic did what it did but it did something to all of us not only in Macedonia but also in the Balkans and a little more wide, always look at things a little earlier, ahead of time, we have to be predictable of situations that may occur in society, globally and so on, exactly the consequences are, we notice them every day, one of the consequences in education is that the quality has dropped significantly, the motivation has dropped significantly, it's up to the students, it's up to the teachers it's not just the factors, now someone says the motivation factor is also the salaries, payments and so on, but the students have no pay.

This is a cycle is a spiral, the quality spiral depends on who knows how much and how, and so on.

It is noticed that the consequences are the pandemic has made itself, God willing we do not have such similar challenges but this situation that we went through, conditionally to say not all with the pandemic, has made us a little different, to prepare ourselves slightly different for each challenge, a challenge which can occur within 24 hours we do not know can happen but education must be prepared at such a level that it can face even more difficult challenges.

Exactly many developed countries, globally, we have to be such to learn from countries that have education systems that anticipate such situations.

Unfortunately something like this our state, the education system, for access to the educational process, in pandemic situations,

The consequences are being noticed, we are just climbing in quality, here is the success is good, exactly that success that is very high in our country is worrying especially in children who do not have the level of thinking especially how they would think after the age of 18 where he would see that his grade of five is not what he meets the criteria with the skills and knowledge he has especially in the labor market for example statistics are showing in the last school year, we finished with the pandemic, the average grade in primary schools but also in high school was over 55% of students were excellent, imagine what it means close to 60% excellent or in pandemic times where teaching is online to say with what protocols, in what ways, with what presence, with what quality the lesson is realized, exactly the unrealistic assessment has consequences, especially since the pandemic brought them ”.

In terms of your career, what do you think has been the biggest education crisis in RMV?

This period is of crisis, I am 37 years old in education, an experience where I started at a very young age when the challenges of education were a little different, maybe where the methods were a little different, there was an education system that was respected, i which at all levels, where the professional development at all levels of teachers was so proper that it met all the requirements of the time.

Now we live in a time when the demands of the labor market are a little different, that is, where job skills are passed on to students, developed to students, knowledge changes, this is exactly the part that is most difficult to say during the period that i have spent it in education as i see it.

Why do I say that?

I say that motivation is a very important part of the learning process that unfortunately we say that daily politics does not notice this,

I never say motivation, yes motivation to students, to parents who accompany students to school, motivation to teachers, to other workers, to other collaborators, all who are involved in the learning process, there are people who are involved in the preparation of different concepts in education exactly this motivation, but what is that motivation, starting from the children, the child knows what awaits him at school, does the child have the pleasure to go to school to feel the school as a second family, say in that psycho-emotional environment where you will spend part of the day, are there conditions, is it offered a quality lesson that is suitable for all levels of children or is the school inclusive, it includes all the requirements of the children in what we call inclusion in education,it is not the part that you have opened the doors of the school, how much it is valued, how much the work of the students is valued, this part of the child, the rest of the parent say how motivated he is, in a society where the family works day by day for existence where there is no discussion let a book buy other things but discuss educational issues, existential issues food but the issue of clothing, and so on, then start other jobs, digitalization has other requirements, that child wants to walk, will to spend a weekend somewhere to say with the family that is not possible these are the challenges of family, parents, but the rest of the teachers, how much teachers have skills, professional competencies in the new concepts that need to adapt, develop,to make transformations, there are also motivations, what I say are the payments, which are where only the teacher can not go to the end of the week and not the month with those payments, there is something that is very important as the value of the teacher, it is not that value that we have had the past years to say day by day the value of the teacher is falling, but we are guilty of this we will not only blame others, but also we must contribute to our professional development to be a little different with students, to plant a different love in the profession with students so that he sees himself that a part of the resources where he can absorb knowledge and skills is precisely the teacher.it is not the value we have had in the past years to say day by day the value of the teacher is falling, but we are guilty of it we will not only blame others, but also we must contribute to our professional development to be a little differently with the students, to plant a different love in the profession with the students so that he sees himself that a part of the resources where he can absorb knowledge and skill is precisely the teacher.it is not the value we have had in the past years to say day by day the value of the teacher is falling, but we are guilty of it we will not only blame others, but also we must contribute to our professional development to be a little differently with the students, to plant a different love in the profession with the students so that he sees himself that a part of the resources where he can absorb knowledge and skill is precisely the teacher.to plant a different love in the profession with the students so that he sees himself that a part of the resources where he can absorb knowledge and skill is precisely the teacher.to plant a different love in the profession with the students so that he sees himself that a part of the resources where he can absorb knowledge and skill is precisely the teacher.

Exactly these motivations are the reasons that we are in this situation which God gave the day before this situation to be overcome and to return to the right path ".

You are part of the 'Media Education' project, what do you think, what can society benefit from the results of this project?

We all know now how important the media is, it is a culture, a media education a media education, it is very important a child at a young age, it is we who see that we have in different social networks, we have various media, we have information which is given within a minute and given by thousands globally.

For this purpose, there is a need for a media education which will start at a younger age for children, this does not mean that there are no parts of media education in specific subjects such as civic culture, there are topics in languages various as in Albanian, Macedonian, English and so on.

We need a media education which is a little more pronounced, where every child has access, every teacher will have access, every parent and so on,

this project which will be for a long time already now has its beginnings, now a considerable part of teachers have started the first phase, we will have the second phase in August where the training is related to media education, about what the media offers us?

How is the information provided?

What is the quality of the information?

How reliable is this information?

Who is behind this information?

How is the information disseminated?

What is that communication channel?

How do we get information and how can it be?

What is the most qualitative information?

What is the most favorite of viewers-listeners?

How much will an information affect the students who in the future will be directed not only in directions which have to do with the media, and so on.

The issue of media education is a component, it is a concept, it is something inevitable in the growth and development of man for an education, for a richer life.

Exactly the people who know what media education means, where to orient, develop the quality of media, information, not everyone has the opportunity, to disseminate information that we sometimes trust.

This is exactly what we need to protect your children, students from bullying which is very pronounced and what is media bullying, say cyber-bullying, on the Internet, on social networks, and so on.

Such a project, which is very serious, has great support from the Ministry of Education and Science, the Bureau of Educational Development and others who are involved in associations and organizations.

We hope that this school year 2022/2023 will start the application in special classes, the programs will be compiled by the Bureau for Development and Education in working groups that are probably already formed, we hope that all the results obtained of this but also others but the greatest benefit will be to the students ”.
