51,095 kg of heroin, hidden in two hiding places of a car, were detained by customs officers on June 16 at around 11.30 pm in the area of ​​the Danube Bridge - Vidin border checkpoint, the Customs Agency reported.

Inspectors stopped for checking a car traveling to Western Europe.

During the X-ray inspection, the customs officers noticed an area with increased density under the front row of seats.

A state inspection found the presence of a double floor.

In a hiding place, behind a folded gray and black bag, were found numerous white packages, wrapped in transparent tape with a paper label affixed to them with a black graphic logo of an eagle.

Under the driver's seat, customs inspectors found another package cache.

In a field drug test, the substance responded to heroin.

A total of 100 packages were seized.

The driver of the car - 48-year-old TK, was prosecuted, questioned as a defendant and detained. 

At the request of the District Prosecutor's Office in Vidin, today the court determined a measure of restraint "detention in custody" against T.K.
