The trial on the criminal case of former Imishli chief executive William Hajiyev has continued.

APA reports that William Hajiyev's lawyer Elmar Karimov made a motion at the hearing chaired by Judge Azer Pashayev at the Baku Court of Grave Crimes.

The lawyer asked to summon an expert to the court in connection with the inspection acts announced during the examination of the documents.

Lawyer Elmar Karimov said that the amount indicated as misappropriation was determined on the basis of probabilities: “No object was inspected, the figures said by the chief accountant were copied.

In general, the expert on the case was not in Imishli.

The public prosecutor denied the lawyer's claim and demanded that the petition not be granted: "All inspections were carried out correctly, and there is no bias in the inspection reports."

The court announced that the motion will be considered in the next trial.

The next hearing is scheduled for June 24.

It should be noted that William Hajiyev was detained during an operation by the State Security Service (SSS).
