The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, is paying a visit to The Hague, where he met with former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, who are being held in detention.
Konjufca will continue today the visits where he will meet the former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi and the former Speaker of the Assembly, Kadri Veseli.
On Saturday, Konjufca met with former Vetëvendosje MP Rexhep Selimi, former KLA spokesman Jakup Krasniqi and Pjetër Shala.
Konjufca also met with former leaders of the Organization of War Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj, who were sentenced by the Hague Tribunal to 4 and a half years in prison.
Regarding this visit, the Speaker of Parliament Konjufca said that they are making this visit in order to see closely how the former KLA leaders are being treated.
"It is clear that in some respects they are either violating their rights.
They are approaching the 2-year detention period and nothing has been done.
They were not even provided with protection at large.
We are concerned as institutions.
We will talk to Messrs. Thaçi, Selimi, Krasniqi and Veseli about these issues ", Konjufca had said days ago.
