Violent protests in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and other states against the Agneepath plan have been criticized.

On the other hand, the opposition has supported the demands of the candidates and asked the Center to hold talks on the matter.

The opposition also says that the government should have consulted other leaders before announcing such a radical change in recruitment in the armed forces.

Meanwhile, protests are continuing in some states.

The most violent demonstrations against this plan took place in Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and Bihar.

In the midst of these protests, the Center has announced several concessions.
