Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko told the BBC that his country would enter the peace talks only after "the last Russian soldier leaves Ukraine".

Former world heavyweight champion this month, Telegrafi reports.

Some Ukrainian officials have expressed private concern that Western allies could push their country toward a peace deal with Russia in light of the continuing consequences of the war on food and energy supplies and the global economy.

When asked by Mayor Klitschko if he was concerned that Ukraine might be under pressure to make concessions to the Russians, he replied:

"Russia talked about it. Let 's find a compromise.

Let's find a solution '.

What are they talking about?

Which compromise?

"Giving the Russians part of Ukrainian territory is not a compromise," he said.

"I am very confident that we will be ready to talk to the Russians about a compromise.

If the last Russian soldier left Ukraine, it would be time to talk, but not now.

"The Russians must flee our homeland."

Ukrainian commanders on the front line in Donbas in the east of the country say they are heavily occupied by the Russians and are losing hundreds of troops every day.
