Sources in the Delhi Police Special Cell have confirmed that dummy IEDs were installed at different places across Delhi to check the alertness of the police.

According to the police, this step has been taken after receiving threats of terrorist attacks several times in different parts of the capital, Delhi Police is ready for terrorist threats after Nupur Sharma's case.

Apart from this, due to several protests over Rahul Gandhi's summons to the ED, Delhi Police practiced to avoid any untoward incident.

According to the police, crowded areas are usually the target of terrorist groups.

All the crowded places are being covered through this exercise to assess the preparedness of the police.

To check the vigilance, on June 12, dummy IEDs were installed by the Special Cell on 15.

At least 10 out of 15 IEDs were detected by the police force in time.
