While many trains were burnt in Bihar, one train each was set ablaze in Ballia in Uttar Pradesh and Secunderabad in Telangana.

Due to this, the Railways canceled many trains going to and from Bihar.

In such a situation, a large number of passengers coming from far away got stuck everywhere.

At Cantt station of Varanasi, many such passengers spoke to NDTV and told their problems.

Passengers were also upset on Saturday due to the cancellation of many trains.

Pintu Tiwari, a passenger standing at Varanasi Cantt station, told that I have to go to Ara, had made a reservation in Shramjeevi Express, but it has been canceled, so now I am waiting for another train.

On the other hand, Rahul told that I am returning from Delhi after giving NTPC exam and got stuck in Varanasi.

I don't know how to proceed now.

Another passenger told that my mother has passed away, have to go home.

The whole family is with me, but due to the cancellation of trains, there is a lot of trouble.

On the other hand, Suresh, a student returning from Secunderabad, told that more than five thousand students had gone to take the examination, but while returning, all got stuck on the way.

He told that the bus fare is also expensive and is still closed, as well as wandering from rate to rate due to the closure of the train.

At the same time, Anand Mohan, Station Director of Varanasi Cantt, said that more than a dozen trains have been affected due to the violent protests.

Trains going from Varanasi to many areas of Bihar were also stopped.

Passengers were assisted as much as possible in trains parked due to violence and after making alternative arrangements, people were sent towards their destination.

Here East Central Railway has made temporary changes in the operation of trains due to violent protests.

Railways says that keeping in view the safety of passengers and railway property, it has been decided that from 20.00 hrs on 18.06.2022 to 04.00 hrs on 19.06.2022 and again on 19.06.2022 from 20.00 hrs to 20.06.2022 at 20.00 hrs. Trains passing / reaching East Central Railway jurisdiction will be operated only till this time.

Let us inform that due to the violent demonstration on Friday, more than 300 trains were affected, while 234 trains were cancelled.

At the same time, 7 trains came under fire. The Railways said that 94 mail and express trains while 140 passenger trains have been canceled due to the demonstration.

While 65 mail and express trains and 30 passenger trains have been partially cancelled.

Officials said that the Railways has diverted 11 mail and express trains.

According to the statement of the Divisional Railway, 164 trains were canceled in East Central Railway (ECR), 34 in North Eastern Railway (NER), 13 in Northern Railway (NR) and about three in Northeast Frontier Railway.

Southern Railway said in a statement that in view of the agitation and arson, all trains from its jurisdiction to destinations in Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh were stopped midway.
