By the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev No. 3096 dated January 5, 2022, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized a sculpture competition from March 15 to June 15, 2022 in connection with the proclamation of 2022 as the "Year of Shusha" in our country.

The Ministry of Culture told APA that many examples were submitted by sculptors to the competition, which was met with great sympathy by the public.

Taking into account the wishes of the sculptors due to the insufficient deadline for submission of samples to the competition, it was decided to extend the competition until September 1, 2022.

Projects will be discussed behind closed doors.

Information about the winner of the competition will be published on the official website of the Ministry of Culture (culture.gov.az) on September 15, 2022, 15 days after the end of the main stage.

Terms of participation in the competition:

The competition is open to professional local and foreign sculptors working in the field of urban sculpture.

2. Candidates must submit an application according to the designated form to participate in the COMPETITION.

The application is filled out directly by the candidate.

All items of the application must be completed.

Only sculptures authored by the candidate are accepted for participation in the competition.

3. There is no charge for statues submitted by candidates.

The person who sent the relevant materials to the COMPETITION is responsible for copyright infringement (plagiarism).

4. The author participates in the selection stage by submitting an application and submitting a statue for consideration (it is also possible to submit it electronically).

To participate, the statue must be submitted to the Ministry of Culture (Baku, Government House) or sent by e-mail to [email protected] with the subject "Competition for the creation of a statue dedicated to the city of Shusha."

5. The organizing committee of the COMPETITION determines only one winner from the given statues.

Selection of COMPETITION participants is carried out according to the following criteria: relevance to the topic;

professionalism of the author's judgment and level of execution, compliance of the presented composition with the material processing technology.

6. Deadline for submission of statues: September 1, 2022.

7. The theme of the competition is "Shusha".

8. Material of the statue: bronze, marble and bronze

Each sculpture can be made by both the individual participant and the team.

The number of co-authors should not exceed 3 people.

Summing up the competition

Samples of sculptures participating in the finals may be covered by the media in order to popularize the COMPETITION and reach a wider audience.

In this case, the authorship of the sculptor designers is preserved.
