Belarusian doctors have become a significant and noticeable part of the peaceful protest.

For many years, Uladzimir Martau

, a resuscitation doctor

, was the head of the anesthesiology and resuscitation department of the Vitebsk Ambulance Hospital.

He was one of the first in Belarus to openly talk about the real situation with the coronavirus.

In the spring of 2021, the doctor's contract was not extended because he spoke openly about the problems in medicine and in the country.

In February 2022, doctors were arrested for 7 days for a white-red-white flag on a Facebook avatar.

We offer the first episode of the second season of Vladimir Martov's podcast "At War with COVID-19".

A few fragments

  • “August 2020 healed old wounds.

I haven't gone to the polls for a long time, I haven't seen it in that sense.

    How embarrassed I was!

However, further events after August 9 were shocking! ”

  • "Thanks to the activity of my colleagues, it suddenly became clear that doctors in Belarus are a force, a kind of" proletariat of the XXI century. "

The slogan "Physicians Against Violence" could not be contrasted with anything equal in meaning. "

  • “On September 14 I was personally (!) Invited to Minsk to meet with DL Pinevich.

He planned to talk to so-called "doctors with an active position in life."

The meeting can be called historic without exaggeration. "

  • In general, the impression of visiting Minsk in mid-September 2020 was depressing: an occupied city full of armed people, especially in the BelMAP area - there are several universities, youth ... I sighed freely only when the "personal driver" took me out borders of Minsk ".
