The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, addressed the members of the Czech Parliament via video link and compared the situation of his country with the Soviet-led occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968.

He thanked the Czechs for their support - the provision of heavy weapons at a crucial point of the conflict, reports the

"We are with you, be with us," he said, quoting a famous line from one of the last radio broadcasts in 1968 before Russian soldiers took over the Czechoslovak Radio building.

He said Ukraine is now using the same words to call on all democratic nations of the world.

Zelensky also warned Russian President Vladimir Putin that he would not stop in Ukraine and that all of Central and Eastern Europe was in danger of Russian aggression.
