New Delhi:

Former Delhi Commissioner Mukund Kaushal's new book 'Sailing on My On Compass' has been launched.

In this, he has mentioned many sentences that happened during his service.

Many interesting stories have been mentioned in this book.

He had a special conversation with NDTV and gave detailed information on these stories told in the book.

On the allegations leveled by the leaders on the police during the sit-in demonstrations, Mukund Kaushal said that the job of the leaders is to make allegations.

What is the reason for the performance, that is the important thing.

Some demonstrations are for the government.

Some demonstrations are peaceful.

There are sensitive areas in Delhi.

Violence also occurs in demonstrations.

The police have to look.

Less force is used.

There are many types of use of force.

They also shower water and orders have to be given after thinking.

Police officers know how to deal with the situation.

Delhi Police has been handling the protesters for many years, so they have no problem.

On the question of the ability of the police to handle the pressure of politicians in today's time, he said that if I am out of the department for a long time, I cannot say anything on this.

In his book, he has also mentioned about the former Prime Minister's son pressurizing him to get a job done.

On this he said that Morarji Desai was the Prime Minister then.

His son had given some instructions to the police which was against the rules.

I had written a letter regarding that, in which the PM's son was mentioned.

When that letter reached Prime Minister Morarji Desai, he said that do what is right.

For this I thank them.

Referring to another anecdote, he said that in 1992 there was great pressure to remove Inspector Vedpal Rathi from Jama Masjid.

There was also the matter of Raj Janmabhoomi.

The PM of that time had called.

Pressure came on me first LG then Home Minister and then Prime Minister.

I told everywhere that I had given the order to the inspector.

He was just following orders.

While discussing another anecdote, he told that the police had arrested two boys.

He was accused of robbery.

I thought of them that later on they will become big criminals.

I kept thinking like this all night.

When I reached office the next day, a boy's mother had come to meet me and followed me to let that boy take the test.

He showed the boy's complete record.

He was always in the top two-three kids in school and was good at sports too.

So I thought that this is the only way to save it or else it will become a big criminal.

The boy later passed the UPSC exam and became an additional secretary.
