The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that they are working on the new name of the monkey pox.

This is happening after over 30 scientists last week called for an "urgent need for non-discrimination" of the name - suggesting it be called hMPXV.

Meanwhile, 1,600 infected people have been registered worldwide, where 72 of them have lost their lives, Telegrafi reports.

Deaths have occurred in states where this contagious disease is endemic.

There have been no deaths in the 32 countries where it has not yet become endemic.

The WHO has announced that it will hold an urgent meeting to examine whether the monkey lion is an international threat to public health, which is the biggest alarm for this United Nations agency.

As reported by the BBC, earlier with such a threat were announced swine flu, polio, Ebola, Zika virus and coronavirus.
