Protests have started across the country against the Agneepath scheme for recruitment in the Central Government's army.

The youth have accused the government of fooling them.

They stopped the rail at many places and protested by blocking the road at many places.

  • In many cities of Bihar, youth took to the streets and protested.

    Students preparing for the restoration of the army in Buxar got angry during the demonstration and blocked the railway track.

    The youth stopped the Jan Shatabdi Express at Buxar station on the Delhi-Howrah route.

  • In Muzaffarpur, the protesting youth blocked the National Highway-28.

    The youth created a ruckus at Chakkar Chowk near the railway station and burnt the road and blocked the road.

    About half a kilometer away from here is Chakkar Maidan, where the army is restored.

  • A youth preparing for the army, involved in the demonstration, asked, "I have been running for two years and preparing myself physically. Will I now serve only for four years?"

    Another youth said that serving only four years would mean that we would have to re-educate for other jobs after that and lag behind other youth of our age.

    In such a situation, a reservation of at least 20 to 30% should be given for 'agniveers' in other government jobs.

  • This new scheme of the central government has also been criticized by many former officers in the army and has raised serious questions.

    He argued that a four-year job would also affect the spirit of patriotism.

    Such youth would avoid taking much risk for the country and would like to complete four years of service somehow.

    Major General BS Dhanoa (Retd) tweeted, "The recently announced recruitment policy for the Armed Forces has two recommendations. First, to extend the period of service to seven years and secondly for those who are willing to continue in service." The quota should be made at least 50 percent.

  • On behalf of the government, Union Minister and former Army Chief General VK Singh, when asked about this plan, said that he does not have much information about it, but at the same time he said that the picture will be completely clear by the time the scheme is implemented. .

  • Youth in the age group of 17.5 years to 21 years will be inducted as Agniveer for 4 years in the Armed Forces- Army, Navy and Air Force.

    More than 46,000 firefighters will be recruited this year.

    Agniveers will be paid a monthly salary of Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000.

    They will also get an insurance cover of Rs 48 lakh during this period.

  • With the facility of EPF / PPF, Agniveers will get Rs 4.76 lakh in the first year.

    At the same time, in the fourth year, the salary will be 40 thousand i.e. 6.92 lakh rupees annually.

    Suitable relaxation in risk, ration, uniform and travel will be given in the form of allowances.

    At the same time, if disabled during the service, the total pay and interest of the non-service period will also be available.

    Service fund will be exempted from income tax.

    The educational qualification for Agniveers will be the same as prescribed for regular posts in the force.

  • On a tenure of 4 years, about 25 percent of Agniveers will be enrolled in the Armed Forces as regular cadre for a period of at least 15 years.

    The firefighters will be given Rs 11.71 lakh as service fund package on exit, which will be exempt from income tax.

    However, there will be no gratuity or pensionary benefit.

  • During this period of service to the country, Agniveers will be given various types of training.

    At the same time, after four years of service, they will be given a certificate, as well as be included in the civil society.

    In case of death during service period, an additional ex-gratia amount of Rs 44 lakh will be given.

    In case of disability, on the basis of the doctor's report, an ex-gratia amount of 44 lakhs on 100%, 25 lakhs on 75% and 15 lakhs on 50% will be given.
