One of the ways in which we are trying to overcome the shortage of staff in the economy is through dual training. In three years, nearly BGN 24.5 million have been invested in it under the project "Support for the dual system of training". businesses also enter school under the National Program "Business Teaches", for which BGN 300,000 per year are allocated ".

This was announced by the Minister of Education and Science, Academician Nikolay Denkov

Nikolay Denkov is a caretaker Minister of Education and Science in Ognyan Gerdjikov's cabinet.

During the discussion "The state - a friend or an obstacle to the effective operation of companies", said the press center of the Ministry of Education and Science.

Minister Denkov pointed out that until five or six years ago most of the students were in the professional fields of "Economics" and "Administration and Management".

"This is no longer the case. Admission in these areas has been reduced by about 40 percent and a number of incentives have been created for areas such as energy, mechanical engineering, general engineering, pedagogy. There are priority professional areas and protected specialties where students are exempt from fees. "They are actually given scholarships and the opportunity to sign contracts with employers. Although there is indeed a reorientation and better balancing of students, the increase in their number in deficit areas is still low," admitted Minister Denkov.

Students in dual education jump to 4000

"Regarding vocational education, there are also serious changes. Admission to vocational classes has been steadily increasing in recent years and there are regions where it is approaching 70 percent. On average for Bulgaria this percentage is about 50, and our goal is to reach 60 percent ", pointed out Acad. Denkov.

"But the labor force in Bulgaria is declining incredibly fast. That is why it is important to work with business to prepare staff who, even before entering the labor market, know that they will be realized in the best way in Bulgaria. The good examples in which professors from universities and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences work together with children should become a mass practice ", the Minister of Education and Science stated categorically.

Representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs and employers also took part in the discussion on career development and the labor market in Bulgaria.
