The abolition of the measures and then the return of the limitation of margins in order to reduce the prices of products by 6-7%, will certainly go in favor of the citizens as the prices of products will decrease.

But, the ECNWM says that restoring the margin limit for basic products will be done at the expense of businesses.

"It is a measure which is temporary, which targets consumer protection this time as well, but we estimate that in some form a very large measure is imposed on the business, having them obliged to bear all the consequences of the crisis.

Prices will actually decrease, but the measure as such is not in line with what we have requested.

"Business is ready to be in solidarity with the citizens, but given the inflation and the increase in prices of operating costs that businesses have, it is intolerable to take such a measure and to bypass the operating costs that companies have until the sale of the product," he said. Executive Director at ECNWM, Drilon Iseni.

The ECNWM proposes to help the most vulnerable categories of citizens and businesses in this crisis.

"The request of the chamber envisages two aspects.

First, the support of citizens through vouchers for the most vulnerable social categories, in which case they will be relieved of part of the financial burden at this stage, while on the other hand businesses will be supported with tax relief or even the removal of customs ", said director Iseni.

Iseni adds that in case of continuing the trend of rising prices in global markets, it may happen that many companies abstain, to be supplied with some basic products.
