WHO has called an emergency meeting on 23 June regarding the outbreak of the monkeypox epidemic (symbolic photo).

The World Health Organization (WHO) WHO said on Tuesday that it would convene an emergency meeting on 23 June.

In this it will be decided whether to treat the outbreak of monkeypox as an international public health emergency.

The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, told reporters, "The monkeypox outbreak is unusual and worrying. That is why I have decided to convene an emergency committee next week under international health regulations, so that to determine whether this outbreak is a public health emergency of international concern?"
