Inside the bunkers built at the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol, thousands of civilians and hundreds of soldiers of the Azov Battalion were housed.

They had remained in miserable conditions, unable to evacuate civilians, where many of them were injured and there were even corpses, Telegrafi reports.

The newly released images show the bunkers where the Ukrainian soldiers stayed, thousands of whom surrendered after three months - where it is now suspected that 2,500 of them are being tortured by Vladimir Putin's forces, Telegrafi reports.

Russian televisions had access inside these bunkers, where, accompanied by Russian soldiers, they were shown the things left by the Ukrainian soldiers.

On the other hand, it has been reported that since the beginning of the Russian occupation of Ukraine, 6,000 Ukrainians and 4,000 Russians have been killed in the port city of Mariupol.

The siege of Azovstal ended on May 20, when members of the Azov Battalion surrendered at the request of President Volodymyr Zelensky.

They are now being held somewhere in the east of the country, a region controlled by pro-Russian separatists.

Moscow has even announced that many of them will appear in the dock.
