Sahiba Gafarova noted that different religious and ethnic groups in Azerbaijan have lived together in peace and friendship for centuries.

At the same time, Azerbaijan is the first country in the East to give women the right to vote.

Today, Azerbaijan has a State Committee for Family, Women and Children, as well as a parliamentary committee.

Speaking about the 44-day Patriotic War and the new reality in the region, Sahiba Gafarova said Azerbaijan was in favor of lasting peace and stability.

He expressed confidence that a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be signed soon.

Expressing satisfaction with his visit to the Azerbaijani Parliament, President of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly Abdullah Shahid expressed satisfaction with the high level of UN-Azerbaijan cooperation and the successful chairmanship of our country in the Non-Aligned Movement.

During the conversation, the guest spoke about Azerbaijan's experience and active role in building a parliamentary network, gender equality, women's participation in politics, the importance of ensuring lasting peace in the region and other issues.
