As of May 1 this year, the number of employees in the country's economy increased by 22.9 thousand people or 1.4% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 1701.3 thousand people.

The State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics that 904.0 thousand of them worked in the public sector and 797.3 thousand in the private sector.

19.6% of employees are in education, 18.8% in trade;

repair of vehicles, 12.5% ​​industry, 8.2% health and social services, 7.3% construction, 6.6% public administration and defense;

social security, 4.3% transport and warehousing, 3.5% agriculture, forestry and fishing, 3.4% professional, scientific and technical activities, 1.9% finance and insurance 13.9% were engaged in other sectors of the economy.

In January-April 2022, the average monthly nominal wage of employees in the country's economy increased by 14.2% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 824.7 manat.

The average monthly nominal wage was higher in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, professional, scientific and technical activities, information and communication, as well as transport and warehousing.
