Delhi Weather News: There is no reduction in heat for the next four days in North India including Delhi (File)

New Delhi:

There is no hope of getting relief from the scorching heat in Delhi-Uttar Pradesh or the whole of North India and many parts of Central India at present.

Most of the states of North India also faced heat wave on Saturday.

Regarding the heatwave, the Meteorological Department has also said that there is a possibility of such heat till June 13.

India Meteorological (IMD) said that the heat wave will continue for two days in the areas of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh (UP, Punjab-Haryana) on Saturday with Banda (Uttar Pradesh) being the hottest place in the country with a temperature of 46.2 degrees Celsius.

At least 22 towns and cities in these states recorded maximum temperatures above 44 degrees Celsius.

Northwest and central India is in the grip of heat wave since June 2 due to hot and dry westerly winds.

Senior scientist of the department RK Jenamani said that the maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR and other parts of northwestern India will decrease by a few degrees over the weekend, but no major relief is likely till June 15.

From June 16, due to the movement of moisture-rich east, there will be a lot of relief from the scorching heat.

Pre-monsoon activities are forecast to start over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha from June 12, but temperatures will remain above normal in North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and North Madhya Pradesh till June 15.


The Meteorological Department says that there is no possibility of any significant change in the maximum temperature in Northwest India in the next four days.

Between June 16 and June 22, the maximum temperature is likely to be below normal or near normal.

No heat wave is expected in any part of the country during June 16-June 22.
