German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's clear request to Serbia for recognition of Kosovo is being assessed as a goal for balancing politics in the Balkans.

Foreign policy experts say Scholz is sorting out issues left by his predecessor Angela Merkel.

The mention of Kosovo as a condition for Serbia's EU membership by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz did not please Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic at all.

However, according to Olaf Scholz, there is nothing to be surprised about in this matter, because as he said, this position of Germany has been known for a long time.

The statements of the German Chancellor in Belgrade, after those in Pristina, according to Professor Milazim Krasniqi, are evidence of the great pressure on Serbia's position towards Russia.

"

Vuiqi.'S statement expresses the blocked mental state in Serbia, because they do not accept the reality, otherwise this is the reality that even the mountain birds know, that Kosovo is independent and Serbia has no access to Kosovo.

But the problem is that the Serbs pretend like that because the Europeans have tolerated them like that… The pressure on Serbia from Germany and from all over Europe has started to increase, because Serbia has remained linked to Putin while the demand is to impose sanctions on Russia, having "Given the very pro-Serbian stance of Chancellor Merkel, now Olaf Scholz has begun to make politics more balanced," said Professor Milazim Krasniqi.

While the other professor, Dorajet Imeri thinks that the pressure is on the Kosovar side.

He says Vucic's reaction is not unexpected.

"I do not think that Scholz has done better in Kosovo, he made it clear that without an agreement with Serbia there can be no progress of Kosovo towards the European Union and considered that this is pressure for Kosovo, not Serbia because a recognition expected from Serbia could be reached through a political agreement or consensus.

"This is a political achievement for Serbia, because Kosovo will unfortunately have to go beyond what is offered in the Ahtisaari package," said Dorajet Imeri.

Kosovo insists that the final agreement with Serbia include mutual recognition, while Serbia seeks a compromise solution.
