After policemen and others, including an IPS officer, were injured in the violence in Ranchi demanding the arrest of suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma for alleged objectionable remarks against Prophet Mohammad, the administration closed the city late in the evening. Prohibitory orders were imposed in some parts of the state.

Along with this, there is also news of the death of two people.

It is being told that after being shot, both the people were brought to RIMS, where they died.

Among the dead are 22-year-old Mohammad Kaifi and 24-year-old Mohammad Sahil.

It is worth noting that after the violence after Friday prayers, the Deputy Commissioner of the city, Chhavi Ranjan, who reached the spot, in view of the seriousness of the situation, imposed curfew in the affected areas of Ranchi city with immediate effect and the police had given loudspeakers in the violence-affected areas. was announced. 

However, seeing the situation under control at around 6.45 pm, Deputy Commissioner Chhaviranjan changed his order and issued an order to impose prohibitory orders in some other areas of the city including Main Road in place of curfew.

After the violence, the administration suspended internet service in Ranchi from 7 pm on Friday to 6 am on Saturday as a precaution.

Expressing concern over the violence that took place today, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has appealed to the people to maintain peace.

Meanwhile, the president of the Daily Market's trade union, Mohammad Hasim, told that the Muslims sought permission to take out the procession demanding the arrest of BJP leaders who made remarks against the Prophet, but they were not allowed to take out the procession, after which the situation worsened. 

Meanwhile, the administrators of the Hanuman temple located on the main road and the shopkeepers selling offerings in the vicinity have alleged that the protesters tried to damage the temple gates, flags etc.

He said that after the protest by Hindu organizations near the temple and when the police arrived, the miscreants withdrew from there.

Senior Superintendent of Police Jha said that a large number of police personnel have been deployed in the entire city and especially in the Main Road area and Central Reserve Police Force and troops from other areas have been sent there.

He told that the injured have been admitted to Sadar Hospital and RIMS.

The matter is being investigated and strict action will be taken against the culprits. 

Meanwhile, after the miscreants withdrew from the road at around 5 pm, the police conducted flag marches on the main road and adjoining lanes and warned people over loudspeakers not to come out of their homes. 

The miscreants were raising slogans against suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and Delhi's media chief Naveen Jindal and demanded their immediate arrest.
