Let us inform that in the voting held on Friday, BJP candidate got 31 votes, Independent candidate got 28 and Congress candidate got 29 votes.

However, the counting of votes became such that Kartikeya was declared victorious.

In fact, out of the total 90 MLAs from Haryana, one independent did not vote and one vote was rejected, making 88 votes valid.

That is, 29.34 votes were needed for every candidate to win.

Since Panwar got 31 votes, his 1.66 votes went to BJP-backed Sharma, as Kartikeya was the second preference candidate.

Maken remains on 29 votes

In such a situation, Kartikeya got 29.66 votes (28 + 1.66), due to which he won.

Here, Maken remained on 29 votes.

The Election Commission started counting of votes late on Friday night at 1 pm after both the parties alleged violation of rules by the MLAs in casting their votes.

At the same time, the result was announced on Saturday morning at 3.10 am.

In fact, BJP and independent candidates had accused Congress MLAs Kiran Choudhary and Bibi Batra of showing their ballot papers.

Here, the Congress also approached the Election Commission and accused the BJP of trying to sabotage the process of free and fair elections and demanded an immediate declaration of the results.
