New Delhi:

Congress is planning a big demonstration during the ED questioning Rahul Gandhi on Monday in the National Herald case.

Party workers across the country will protest outside the Enforcement Directorate's offices.

Sources said that in Delhi, MPs and all the members of the working committee will march to the agency's office along with Rahul Gandhi.

This decision was taken on Thursday in a virtual meeting of top party leaders, general secretaries, in-charges of various states and state unit presidents.

According to sources, the purpose of the protest is to expose the "vendetta politics" of the BJP-led central government and the misuse of central agencies.

Monday's show of strength is likely to be similar to the one in 2015, when Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi sought bail in the case.

Congress will conduct 'Satyagraha' on Rahul Gandhi's appearance, MPs and senior leaders will take out march in Delhi

The case pertains to the probe into alleged financial irregularities in Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi's company Young Indian, which had earlier bought the National Herald newspaper run by the Congress party.

The National Herald was started by Jawaharlal Nehru, the great-grandfather of Rahul Gandhi.

The questioning of the Gandhi family and senior Congress leaders came after the agency registered a fresh case against Young Indian Pvt Ltd under the laws against money laundering following an Income Tax Department investigation.

Rahul Gandhi's mother and party chief Sonia Gandhi has also been called for questioning, but has sought time after three weeks.

75-year-old Sonia Gandhi is in quarantine after being infected with Kovid on June 2.

At the same time, Congress has said that the Gandhi family will appear for questioning, as they have nothing to hide.
