As Russia's attacks on Ukraine continue, risks to global food security are growing.

The statement came from United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, APA reports.

He said the effects of the Russia-Ukraine war on the world had worsened and affected 1.6 billion people in 94 countries.

Guterres warned that the war could lead to an unprecedented wave of famine.

"There is only one way to stop this growing storm. Russia's occupation of Ukraine must end," Gutteresh said.

The UN Secretary General has called for a food deal on Ukraine and Russia.
