The cassation appeal against the decision of the appellate court against the former chief executive of Yevlakh Goja Samadov has been considered.


APA reports that the Supreme Court, chaired by Judge Tahir Kazimov, announced a decision on the appeal.

According to the decision, the charges against the former chief executive under Article 313 (forgery) of the Criminal Code were dismissed.

In this regard, Goja Samedov's sentence was reduced from 3 months to 5 years and 9 months.

It should be noted that Goja Samadov was detained in a special operation conducted by the State Security Service (SSS) in 2019.


He was convicted of abuse of office, forgery, large-scale bribery, embezzlement and other facts and sentenced to 7 years and 3 months in prison by the Sheki Court of Grave Crimes.


Later, the Sheki Court of Appeal reduced the term of imprisonment to 6 years, taking into account the health of the former chief executive.
