After days ago a person was left dead and a woman received serious bodily injuries as a result of the fall of a tree (oak) by strong winds, the Municipality of Prishtina today began cutting and pruning of damaged trees.

The expert on emergency issues and at the same time the Executive Director of the Security Policy Research Center (SPRC), Tahir Ahmeti, reacted in this regard, saying that the risk assessment should be done in time.

Ahmeti through a press release said that there should have been casualties and injuries in order for the Municipality of Pristina to intervene to identify and eliminate damaged trees that pose a danger to citizens.

"So, we had to have victims and injured in order to intervene to identify and eliminate damaged trees that pose a danger to citizens," he said.

Further, according to him, risk assessment and taking measures to prevent potential risks should be done continuously and in a timely manner.

"The safety of citizens is and should be primary," said Ahmeti, among others.
