The Minister of Health, Rifat Latifi, has warned that measures will be taken against persons who have misused the funds of the Medical Treatment Program Outside Public Health Institutions.

KOHA has been publishing the series of research on abuses with this program for more than a week.

Several months of research has raised suspicions of mismanagement and large loss of money at the expense of critically ill patients who do not find a cure in Kosovo.

In this regard, Latifi said that such reports indicate a problematic situation.

Therefore, he warned that the competent authorities will deal with these suspicions of abuse.

He also announced that there will be serious changes in the Board of Directors of the Health Insurance Fund.

"I have also said publicly, if there are abuses with these funds, the competent bodies will deal with it.

"We are collecting information we are receiving from citizens and MPs."

"The board of the Fund will have serious changes, and there will be appropriate changes if someone has broken the law, so he has misused his position, there will be consequences," said the minister on Wednesday, while reporting to the Committee on Health.
