Demoralized Russian troops in Ukraine are "staging" various ways to avoid war and leave the country - often even arranging "fake marriages", say Ukrainian intelligence officials.

Analysts say Russian soldiers are overwhelmed - with low morale and may soon face a shortage of units on the front line in the Ukraine war, which has already entered its 105th day, reports Telegrafi.

In an audio recording provided by Ukrainian intelligence where a Russian soldier is heard talking to his friend - he admits that they have no other choice and that they have already failed in their attempts to take control of different regions.

In short, they are seeking at all costs excuses to be released from military service.

And according to Russian law, they are released only if they are injured or have suffered a very serious injury.

The soldier was heard saying that he had tried to organize a fake wedding, under the pretext of fleeing to the place where the war between Ukrainian and Russian forces is taking place.

"I told a friend that she had to fill out applications at the civil registry office.

"She refused, but we have no other way to leave - so we have to make fake marriages," said the audio recording provided by the Ukrainian SBU.
