The US Ambassador to Belgrade, Christopher Hill, closely attended the two-day summit in Ohrid, where the "Open Balkans" were discussed.

In an interview with Abcnews.al, Hill said that he was in Ohrid precisely to support the project for the "Open Balkans", as according to him this is an original project of cooperation between the countries of the region.

"I am here to support this project, as I believe that the 'Open Balkans' is an original cooperation project and very valuable for the respective countries," said the US Ambassador to Belgrade.

Asked about the statements made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, that "the Open Balkans is a Serbian initiative and that he supports it, Hill said that this is a sarcastic and malicious statement.

According to him, Lavrov is not a supporter of the "Open Balkans", so his statement expresses negative will.

I do not think he supports the 'Open Balkans', I even think that his statement to support the 'Open Balkans' was sarcastic and with a negative will.

So I do not believe he is a supporter of the 'Open Balkans', said Ambassador Hill.

Regarding the statements of the Russian Foreign Minister that this country is in support of the "Open Balkans", the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama said that if this were true, Sergei Lavrov would be at the Ohrid summit today.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vuiqi., Said that the idea of ​​an "Open Balkans" was not outside the region.
