Japan has added two Russian and one Belarusian bank to the sanctions list, as well as extended the ban on exports of goods to Russia, according to the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
As part of the new package of sanctions from July 7, the assets of Rosselkhozbank, Moscow Credit Bank and the Belarusian Development Bank will be frozen.
It will be possible to make payments and make transactions with these banks only with the appropriate permission from the Japanese authorities.
The Japanese Foreign Ministry also said that the ban on exports will include goods that help strengthen Russia's industrial infrastructure.
In March, Japan imposed sanctions on Russia and Belarus over its invasion of Ukraine.
12 individuals from Belarus were included in the sanctions list, including Viktor and Dmitry Lukashenko, and 10 legal entities.
On April 10, Tokyo imposed sanctions on three Belarusian banks due to hostilities in Ukraine.
March was the preliminary round of Japanese sanctions.
Assets of individuals and legal entities subject to the new restrictions are being frozen.
In addition, the supply of dual-use goods to Belarus and exports to the Ministry of Defense of Belarus and "Integral" are prohibited.
