Jammu:

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday appealed to the Dogra and Kashmiri Pandit community not to leave the Valley and said the government was committed to foiling the "Pakistani conspiracy".

In the wake of the targeted killings in Kashmir, Kashmiri Pandits and Dogra community workers have been demanding transfer out of the Valley.

Describing Jammu and Kashmir as the crown of the country, Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Ravindra Raina said, “We have to stand together to thwart the nefarious designs of Pakistan under which terrorists sponsored to forcefully expel minorities and nationalist Muslims from the Valley. A conspiracy is being hatched through targeted killings."

Addressing a gathering of Kashmiri Pandits at the party headquarters here, Raina said, "We have been fighting a Pakistan-sponsored proxy war for the last 32 years and our police, army and paramilitary forces are giving a befitting reply to the neighboring country by eliminating thousands of terrorists. Huh."

"We appeal to Pandits, Dogras and all nationalists from other parts of the country to stop as we have to join hands to foil the conspiracy of the enemies," he said.

Raina said that the government has announced to take them to safer places and provide proper security.

Is the Center not able to face peaceful protests: Mehbooba

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday questioned whether the Center is so weak that it cannot face peaceful protests by mainstream political parties in Kashmir.

Mufti's remarks came amid Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressing a rally against the Center in the national capital over the killings in Kashmir.

Mufti said it was ironic that political parties in the Valley were not allowed to protest against the killings of members of the minority community, while parties in other states were allowed to do so.

The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir wrote on Twitter, "Ironically, in Kashmir, mainstream parties were not allowed to protest against the killings of minorities.

Can this be seen as the panic of the Indian government over the deteriorating normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir?

Or are they not able to face peaceful protests?
