In recent weeks, rumors about Vladimir Putin's health have been circulating in the world media and social networks.

Vladimir Putin is a Russian politician.

Born on October 7, 1952 in Leningrad, now St. Petersburg.

Unconfirmed reports say that the Russian president has cancer or Parkinson's, or that he survived a coup attempt… even if he is dead and replaced by a double, writes the Guardian, quoted by BTV.

Photos of Putin's meetings with high-ranking advisers are examined in microscopic detail: whether he squeezed the mass of pain during a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in late April, whether his swollen face was a sign of steroid use, according to the former outsider. Minister of the United Kingdom David Owen.

USA: Vladimir Putin is sick and dangerous

As the war in Ukraine enters its fourth month, reports suggest the Russian leader may be ill.

But that can only be a wish for Putin's many critics, who appear willing to accept conspiracy theories of divine revenge or a palace coup for his continued aggression against Ukraine.

In an interview Sunday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was forced to deny speculation that Putin was ill or dying.

"President Putin appears in public every day. You can watch him on TV to read and listen to his speeches. I don't think sane people can see signs of any disease or deteriorating health," he told French television.

Lavrov added that he left reports of Putin's ill health to those who spread such rumors.

Videos of Putin's meetings are being scrutinized

On Monday, Putin spoke with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and chaired a meeting of his Security Council.

Both meetings took place remotely, as the Kremlin leader continues to be isolated over the coronavirus.

World leaders who met with Putin but were not quarantined were forced to sit at a long table tens of meters from the president.

Last week, Ukrainian military intelligence chief Kiril Budanov said he thought Putin was both seriously ill and had survived a recent coup attempt, saying only that the alleged attackers came from the Caucasus region.

"He has several serious illnesses, one of which is cancer, but it is not worth hoping that Putin will die tomorrow," Budanov told Ukrainian Pravda.

He also claims that the coup "will eventually lead to a change in the leadership of the Russian Federation and that this process has already begun."

A former Soviet spy claims that Putin has Parkinson's, and New Lines magazine claims to have obtained a recording from an oligarch who says Putin is "very ill with blood cancer."

None of these reports have been confirmed, the Guardian reports.

A report on the investigative website Project said Putin was suspected of having thyroid cancer or another disease.

The report is based on leaked travel documents showing that Putin received regular visits from an oncologist and two otolaryngologists.

The Kremlin has not confirmed reports of Putin's illness, saying the Russian leader is in excellent health.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the allegations as "fabrication and untruth".

Did Putin disappear during his rule?

According to the British publication, rumors that Putin suffers from diseases have lasted for more than two decades and are partly due to the Kremlin, which strictly guards information about Putin's health and whereabouts.

Since taking office, Putin has been portrayed as an active athlete to contrast with the image of Boris Yeltsin as a heavy drinker whose poor health has made him an even worse leader.

In the past, however, Putin has disappeared for weeks amid reports of sports injuries from ice hockey and judo.

He recently told an interviewer that he had fallen from a horse at the beginning of his presidency, the Guardian added.

According to the publication, the Kremlin regularly uses pre-recorded reports to give the impression that Putin attends meetings when in fact he is unknown.

Such a prolonged absence occurred during the coronavirus epidemic, when Putin claimed to be in Moscow while reportedly in Sochi, occasionally appearing in an identical office as if he were in Moscow.

Since the start of the war, some reports have focused specifically on Putin's body language, suggesting that he may have some back problems, even claiming to be wearing a corset or some kind of armor when in public.
